‘Joel, if you’re cool with it, could you … sit… in front of the toilet?’
I took a few steps back. I took a shot. It was too high. I needed to get down lower. I crouched down. Nope. Too high still. And that’s how I found myself (like many cool kids before me) lying on the floor in the toilets at Brooklyn Standard.
But this isn’t about me rolling around on toilet floors. This is about true love and well-spent youth and sweet romance over super sized cokes at maccas and double mohawks and the best Joel ever. This is about a super sweet, beautiful, smart, funny girl (that’s you Lauren) meeting her rough diamond with the sharp haircut and building a life together and FINALLY – FINALLY. Making it official yesterday.
Yesterday we followed these guys and their family and friends around as they drank the whiskey said the vows and signed the paperwork and charged through busy weekend crowds in fading light and drank in their favourite bar and then drank with their favourite people. If you were at this wedding, and your memory is a little foggy (that’s… every last one of you, you wild things), holla at Lara or I for a more detailed recount. I suspect you’re here for a stickybeak and their photos though, and you’re in luck mofos. I have photos for you! Can I put a language warning on their photos? Um, F-bombs ahead. Hide yo kids.
