I climbed up off the footpath where I’d been sitting, photographing Shona and Alec’s bridal party from a distance. By the time I’d clambered up with all of my gear, the bridal party had walked up the path, to meet Colette and I.
Without saying anything, Shona came up and threw her arms around Colette. ‘Before I forget.’ She said. Then she hugged me too. ‘Thank you’.
That’s just how Shona and Alec are. Not just with us, but with everyone. It’s how their friends and family were too, it was just a pack of wonderful, kind hearted humans who had come together from all the corners of the world. And here’s a fun fact: Shona’s gown is her late grandmother’s!
Shona and Alec’s wedding in Brisbane yesterday was the most excellent of days. While the wild westerly winds blew we were sheltered in the courtyard of Old Government House. Their ceremony flew by so quickly and before we knew it, we were mucking around with milk crates down an alleyway. Before we knew it again, we were dancing to the Spice Girls on the dance floor. Luckily we magically froze time by means of pictures, and here are some right now:
