‘I feel weird. I feel weird!’ Em kept saying as she got ready.
‘It’s okay.’ I told her ‘being a bride is kind of a weird thing to do with your Saturday’.
Think about all of the bazillions and kerjillions (official measure of human life) of people on this earth. How Em and Gav crossed paths by chance, and realised they already kind of knew each other through loving the same band… when you really think about the odds of alllll that, it’s kind of mindblowing. They didn’t want a wedding-y wedding, so feeling in any way bridal was a bit unusual for beautiful Em. However, there we were, watching them get married, and Em looking majestic AF by the lake, every bit the beautiful bride… I mean, it goes without saying, but Gavin looked pretty majestic and bridal too.
After their heartfelt ceremony by Lake Weyba, the skies got pretty threatening. We hung out with them by the lake, in the bush and in the rainforest, making crude jokes and playing silly games until party time.
It was such a pleasure to be included along on their wedding day, with their absolute nearest and dearest, to record these images and to adventure through mud, thick scrub, under looming thunderous clouds, roll around on fairways and get eaten by mozzies with you.
