Anna and Ty got married yesterday at All Hallows here in Brisbane, and then we partied down at Moda Portside. I skyped Anna on Wednesday night to discuss our game plan for the day.
‘So the reception is going to be kind of… tropical, but a bit wild? There will be a hanging flower installation, it’s hard to explain but you’ll know it when you see it’ Anna explained. Ty popped into shot here and there, and I did briefly skype chat with their Sausage Dog.
The only other noteworthy word I wrote down on my notepad from our skype chat was ‘MACAW!!!!!’. With some stars and lines underneath it.
Being invited back into a circle of friends or family for multiple weddings is one of those insanely humbling experiences. We had previously shot Cas and Nick‘s wedding just under a year ago, so it was awesome to see so many familiar faces (and places! Anna and Nick both got ready in their family home) yesterday. Being trusted to document so much of the one family’s history reminds me of my Mum and her sisters all having the same photographer for their weddings, and how important all of those photos are to us now. Hopefully our photos are a little bit less eighties, though (Wedding Photographer style forecast: puffy sleeves and perms will make a comeback, just you watch!).
Right, we have some seriously amazing stuff to show you this morning. Let’s get into it:
