Stevie and Barend got married in the sweet little country town of Condobolin (Condo! Birthplace of Shannon Noll!) in a wedding that was a little bit South African and a little bit Aussie, and a whole lot of fun. For a lot of us, Condo was a destination wedding, with so many of their nearest and dearest travelling from South Africa… and, well, us, travelling from the Big Smoke too! After a beautiful ceremony and a few tears from Barend, we headed out to a few spots around Condo where we found the most insanely beautiful light to take some photos and hang out with their wonderful wingwomen and wingmen. Stevie will forever be our hero for somehow managing to coordinate and style her own wedding with such sweet country and vintage vibes, and pull it off without a hitch, maintaining her total bridechilla status the whole day.
The party atmosphere at the reception was kicked off with Springbok Shots (that’s Creme de Menthe and a South African cream liqueur… yep… layered on top of each other) before everyone sat down to dinner and heartfelt and hilarious speeches. The dancing at Stevie and Barend’s wedding was next level though, because so many people knew how to ballroom dance! Ballroom dancing to ‘Simply the Best’ will forever be the only way to dance to that song from now on.
Travelling to little country towns and places we’ve never been before makes the whole experience so immersive. We will never forget our time together in Condo (although we didn’t see Nollsie like we were hoping) but luckily for all of us, we got to take all these pictures!
