Ingrid and Kayla got married in beautiful Bellingen at the Bellingen Valley Lodge with their dog Lani at their feet and surrounded by so much love from their crew. We bloody love a road trip wedding, you guys!!
Ingrid and Kayla first crossed paths yeeeears ago at a pub in Brisbane after Ingrid had spent the day at a rally campaigning for same sex marriage. Kayla pointed out in her speech that the reason they met was for this exact moment – right here – as they were legally married. Knowing how hard this right was fought for and the pain that was endured during the plebiscite made their wedding day even sweeter, the tears even more abundant, and the celebration even bigger, as they were finally and legally recognised as wife and wife.
After some last minute changes of plan for the girls, they put so much trust in their amazing Stylist and Coordinator One Day Weddings and Events to shift the entire wedding to Bellingen and to a venue sight unseen – yep! the girls did not see the venue until the wedding! – and the whole day was glorious! Taking cues from the rolling hills and Australian landscape, the styling was in shades of forest green and earthy tones with native florals, timber textures and plenty of candlelight, and the most incredible vegetarian food we have ever experienced!
Having a destination wedding meant everyone was very much in holiday mode AND party mode when the wedding day rolled around. We have had the incredible fortune to have shot a few weddings for this friendship circle so we knew we were in for a pretty wild party. Are you ready? Are you sitting down? Alright, let’s scroll through this amazing day.
