Venues we Love: Yandina Station is the rustic, country, coastal dream!
Yandina Station is that perfect blend of coast and country – surf and turf! This glorious venue is so close to beautiful beaches like Coolum on the Sunshine Coast, and yet it feels like you’re miles away from everything amongst the dams, paddocks and the cattle. In fact, this historic venue is still a working cattle station!
We love documenting weddings at Yandina Station because couples and some of their guests can stay on site, there is a beautiful deck area looking out over the trees for the ceremony and then there’s the beautiful rustic old barn for the reception venue. The real surprise is when you walk in to the barn as the reception starts at dusk, and see that one wall is all windows looking out over the paddocks as the sky goes all sorts of pastel pinks and blues before the stars start to blanket the sky.
Having everything so close together makes the wedding day feel so relaxed and stress-free for our couples and their guests. Even better is that most of our Brisbane based couples and their nearest and dearest spend the whole weekend away together on the sunshine coast, meaning everyone has plenty of time across the weekend to relax and enjoy a getaway as well as an epic wedding celebration.
As for portraits, we have so many options around the cottage gardens full of bright flowers, the rustic buildings, the vistas looking across the paddocks, the grassy fields, the long dirt road, along the paddock fences and the bushland around the dam – all just a few short steps away from the party. Absolutely spoiled for choice!
And lastly, we have to mention how spectacular the Yandina Station crew are – they take such good care of everyone on wedding days, they’re so efficient, and the most wonderful hosts for wedding days that go down in history as the best days ever.
