Sarah & Andrew’s Magnificent Bower Estate Wedding

Sarah and Andrew got married at the Bower Estate, and if you’ve been following along on our Instagram you’ve already had a good stickybeak at the sneak peeks. Now that the full gallery’s done, it’s about time these two got their own proper spot on the blog, because it was the most spectacular day with these two beautiful souls and all of their loves. Sarah and Andrew are the loveliest kind of gorgeous big ol’ dorks, and we were so so stoked to be able to capture them in all of their glory.

Sarah’s a horse girl (she’s accident prone, too, so everyone was pretty stoked she remained injury free for the wedding!). There was a Pokéball ring box because they call each other Jigglypuff. There were so many little nods to the things that make Sarah & Andrew ‘Sarah & Andrew’. And it’s worth noting that Sarah is the resident MacGyver of the group and was able to DIY sooooo many details. Gold foil invites? No worries. Polished horse shoes? Done.

Getting married at the Bower Estate

If you haven’t been out to the Bower Estate yet, let us tell you alllll about it before we show you. It’s 120 acres of Gold Coast hinterland out at Natural Bridge, about 45 minutes from the Gold Coast and just over an hour from Coolangatta Airport. They typically bus guests in and out from the coast so nobody needs to drive. The whole property backs onto world heritage rainforest, so you feel like the only people on earth. Super private and secluded!

There are a few different ceremony spots scattered through the estate depending on the vibe you’re after. Hillview is where Sarah and Andrew got married, but The Verandah is a great wet weather backup option if you need it. The reception happens under a clear marquee, so you still get that twinkly-stars-overhead feeling no matter the weather. Sarah and Andrew both got ready in the cottage on site, team Andrew stayed downstairs, team Sarah stayed upstairs. Everyone was just steps away from the ceremony and everything was super relaxed during the getting ready bit.

Two of us, the whole time

Sarah and Andrew got the standard Cloud Catcher setup: Two experienced studio pals who’ve shot hundreds of these days together, covering both getting-ready rooms at once, catching the vows from two angles, and still having a spare set of hands free for pinning boutonnieres, holding on to beer bottles and champagne flutes, and wrangling guests in and out of family and friend photos efficiently so everyone can get back to the serious business of partying ASAP.

Although Sarah and Andrew’s wedding looked so breathtakingly beautiful, we think the best styling and decoration you can have on a wedding day is the people you fill the marquee with! The amount of love on the day was such a privilege to capture, and it says sooooo much about these two that they are so incredibly loved, and that everyone felt so comfortable and happy to welcome us into the fold for the day.
